.Synopsis...
A quick moving system brushes the region, bringing light showers
and isolated thunderstorms north of Interstate 80 late today into
Monday. Breezy winds are expected to accompany this system as
well, with a return to dry and mild weather through the remainder
of the week.

.Key Messages...

* Late Today-Monday:

-Probability of rainfall > 0.25": 50-80% across northern
  Sacramento Valley, Shasta County mountains, northern
  Sierra/southern Cascades north of I-80.

-Probability of isolated thunderstorms: 10-20% across northern
  Sacramento Valley and surrounding terrain late tonight and
  Monday afternoon/evening.

-Snow levels 7000-8000 feet, with accumulations of a dusting to
  an inch possible over peaks.

-Breezy southerly winds gusting 20-30 mph at times.

* Tuesday-Friday:

-Dry and mild weather expected through the remainder of the week.

-Probability of high temperatures > 80F (Wednesday-Friday):
  40-80% across the Delta, Valley, and foothills.

* Saturday-Sunday:

-Trend toward more unsettled upper level pattern into next
  weekend.

-Cool down to more seasonable temperatures expected.

-Slight chance (10-20%) for light precipitation from Interstate
  80 northward.

* Precipitation totals trending slightly upward for the tonight
  into Monday period.

..AVIATION...

General VFR conditions expected next 24 hours at TAF sites. Light
showers spread into the area this evening and overnight, and
can`t rule out an isolated thunderstorm (10-15%) in the northern
and central Sacramento Valley from 06-15Z. Better chances of
thunderstorms (10-20%) after 18Z Monday. Snow levels 7000-8000
feet. After 00z this evening Valley surface winds around 12 kt
with local gusts to around 25kt for the northern Sacramento Valley
and northeast foothills and 40 kt over the Sierra.
